Jayne Strand was born in Liverpool and
studied singing with Kenneth Woolham of the Royal College of Music and
then went onto to study with the late Rita Hunter CBE and the late John
Noble. Since completing her opera studies, she has gone onto perform
the roles of The Countess LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Fiordiligi COSÌ
FAN TUTTE, Gilda RIGOLETTO, Norina DON PASQUALE, Mimi LA BOHÈME,

English Heritage as well as at various prestigious privately owned venues
around the UK including Wilton House, Hatfield House and Arundel Castle
as part of the 2008 & 2009 Festivals.
Jayne is also no stranger to the concert
platform, performing as a soloist in various Oratorios in England including
Mozart C MINOR MASS and Vivaldi GLORIA. Her classical vocal training
has also offered her the opportunity to develop a versatility of style,
and explore her love of the classic music of the great Hollywood musicals
of the 1940's and 50's. She has also given many private recitals for
charities including The Prince's Trust and was recently given the privilege
of being invited by TRH the Earl and Countess of Wessex to perform at
a private dinner and reception at Bagshot Park.
In 2009 Jayne will be performing the
role of Donna Elvira DON GIOVANNI in a national tour of historic venues
around the UK, as well as performing in a number of gala concerts which
emphasise her rich variety of repertoire including a concert version
of Cole Porter's KISS ME KATE with the Candlelight Orchestra. Further
plans for 2009/10 also include her taking the title role in Puccini’s
TOSCA in a UK tour and Desdemona in a special concert version of Verdi’s
OTELLO.
